The Experience
Cacao was a very precious part of the ancient Central American culture. Not only its value was so high that cacao beans used as a currency by the Mayas, but it was also considered the Food of the Gods because consuming it in high amounts can help connect with the spirits.
Hand harvested by Curandera Ines in Oaxaca, Mexico, our cacao contains theobromine, which at high levels produces beta-endorphins. These hormones are directly responsible for feelings of tranquility, relaxation, and happiness. They relate to the nervous system to give us a sense of peace.
Cacao ceremonies are particularly beneficial for our emotional body: a journey is made to the interior of our being, all the way where our wisdom resides. This ceremony reconnects us with the dormant beauty, sweetness, and love in ourselves. It helps us to recover our power.
In the physical part, it provides us with the energy to overcome daily work, keeping us mentally more active, eliminating body pain, and keeping the skin cleaner and free of impurities: cacao helps us recover our inner and outer beauty.
The first ceremony of 2023 will be held by our founder Eda Gungor, supported by Renata. The ceremony will begin with anchoring the directions, putting the prayers towards our most sacred intentions and when we can feel the physical and spiritual effects, we will be chanting, singing, and dancing. The experience lasts approximately 2 hours and the spirit of the cacao allows us to harmonize what we need on an emotional and spiritual level, without the intervention of the mind. We will drop what does not serve us anymore and we will process a deep transformation, and change that we need.
The music will be done LIVE by Accordi Disccordi. We are very grateful that they will embark on an adventure with us for this ceremony in our garden.
About Merve Alpay (Co-host)
As a small child, Merve's interest in flowers, glitter, and dancing with tulle at home took her to the door of a ballet school. She danced until a genetically-related bone condition transformed her dance journey into a healing one. Her desire to spread the possibility of healing with movement opened the doors to a whole new world and led her to open a studio in her neighborhood. As a trained doula, myofascial release practitioner, and Gyrotonic method instructor, she felt the calling of the earth, the movement, the cycle, and the creation grow stronger in her, drawing her towards shamanic works and cacao. She invites those who hear the call too to filter their intentions and dreams from their hearts and walk with their bare feet on a brand-new journey under the guidance of cacao.
